Corso per interpretare le istruzioni degli aerei
Guardando le immagini di questo video (molto divertente!), mi vengono alla mente due considerazioni che sono solo apparentemente contrastanti.
Una è che, talvolta, trovandoci di fronte a delle immagini palesemente assurde, la nostra mente ha la tendenza a scartare l'interpretazione assurda, che è quella più evidente, a favore di una meno evidente ma più sensata e razionale.
La seconda è che può bastare mettere da Parte per un momento questi schemi della nostra mente ed 'accendere' un pò di fantasia, per guardare oltre un'immagine apparentemente perfettamente sensata e dargli un'interpretazione completamente diversa (e che ha pienamente senso, seppur assurda).

After looking at the pictures in this video (which is very funny!), I had two thoughts crossing my mind, which are only apparently in contrast with each other:
The first being that, sometimes, when we come across images that obviously make no sense, our mind has the tendency of discarding an absurd interpretation, though more evident, in favour of an interpretation that is less evident but seems rational and makes more sense.
The second is that if you forget only for a moment those mental schemes and 'switch on' some fantasy, then you can see beyond a completely rational image and make a completely different interpretation (and that makes perfectly sense even if absurd).

Engrish
Non ve ne avevo ancora parlato? Questo fantastico sito, Engrish, è una raccolta di foto di cartelli, etichette, magliette, menù, manuali, e di tutto ciò che mostra un uso creativo, originale, improprio, mal tradotto e mal scritto della lingua inglese nei paesi asiatici... solitamente con effetto altamente comico!
How can it be that I haven't posted about it yet? This fantastic web site, Engrish, is a collection of pictures of signs, labels, shirts, menus, manuals and of anything showing poor translation, misspelling, and rather creative, original, or improper use of English in Asian countries... usually with a very comic outcome!

Non è mai troppo tardi... / It's never too late...
... per imparare a piegare i lenzuoli con gli angoli elasticizzati (senza che sembrino una palla informe di tessuto).
Ma in tutta sincerità, se con questo metodo ci vogliono tre minuti per farlo, penso me li risparmierò per fare altro, e continuerò a piegarli in una palla informe.
... to learn how to fold fitted bedsheets (without them looking like an irregular ball of textile).
But to be honest, if it takes three minutes to do it, I think I'll spare my time for something else and keep folding them into an irregular ball of textile.
Ma in tutta sincerità, se con questo metodo ci vogliono tre minuti per farlo, penso me li risparmierò per fare altro, e continuerò a piegarli in una palla informe.
